its just one day before the last day of the O level examinations.
last day of the national exams (for us)
the last time we're gonna sit in that hall,
scribbling furiously
sweating. tick tock
hey, but the aircon's on....
the first place we stepped into
when registering a place in the school.
the last place we'll be visiting
getting results
tick tock
settling in
first laying out the sleeping bags
now putting on the jacket.
not the straight jacket;
okay, maybe..
but mainly to deter the cold
from creeping in
stealthily.
inching its way
into the very core.
freezing the brain
paralysing all thought processes.
ironically termed a 'burn-out'
i dont see the heat
but i feel it all about
the intense competition
the silent battles.
we're waging war,
heck, we're IN one
casting all distractions aside
concentrating on the meaningless jumble
that which we call words, sentences, numbers,
making sense out of what was rubbish
but brought to live by thought.
focussing on answering
just penning it all down
together with all the hope,
dreams, determination,
sealing it in ink.
ticktock
we progress...
we await the news
hoping for the best
fearing the worst
why not hang on to faith
ticktockticktock
anxiety
cold sweat
adrenaline rush
the pace quickens
the mind races forward
the arms are too tired
they still HAVE to keep up
they just have to
the fullstop.
ticktocktock.
the fullstop.
fullstop.
i hate this hall
the path continues... @
